WHAT TO EXPECT

Full Summit Agenda

DAY 1 - FRIDAY, JANUARY 26

Gasparilla Cybersecurity Summit

8:00 – 9:00 am: Networking Breakfast

9:00 – 9:15 am: Welcome
Charlotte Baker, CEO, Digital Hands

9:15 – 10:15 am: Continuous Threat Exposure Management
Bryson Bort, CEO, Scythe.io

If defenders think in lists and attackers think in graphs, then Continuous Threat Exposure Management (CTEM) is the next step for enterprise defense. Moving from point in time thinking, this process continuously identifies and actively prioritizes threats. You can’t fix everything, but you can fix what matters most.

10:15 – 11:00 am: The C-suite wants to use AI. Now Let’s Talk about Managing Risk!
Justin S. Daniels, Esq., MBA, Baker Donelson Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC

How do you feel about AI determining if you get a job interview? What could possibly go wrong if cyber intrusions cause biased AI data to influence hiring decisions that violate employment law? Join Justin Daniels as he explains AI risk management using the NIST AI Risk Management Framework in a case study with resumes.

11:00 – 11:15 am: Break

11:15 – 12:00 pm: The SEC Rules: Keeping your Cyber House in Order, Panel
Justin S. Daniels, Esq., MBA, Baker Donelson Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC
Malvin Eanes, Director, Hotel Security & Compliance AMER and BISO, International Hotel Group (IHG)
Dewayne Alford, Vice President of Security Operations, Digital Hands

The SEC Passed the Cyber Regulations on July 26, 2023.  The new rules require publicly traded companies to provide investors with information surrounding cyber practices and material breaches so that investors can make informed investment decisions about a company. This is also important for private companies who may face much stricter cybersecurity disclosure requirements under their contracts with their publicly traded customers. The panel will discuss the rules, how to approach materiality under these new rules, and what you need to do to be prepared for a call from the SEC if you have a data breach, using a few real-world examples.

12:00 – 1:00 pm: Lunch

1:00 – 2:00 pm: Ensuring Trust, Data Privacy, and Security in an AI World, Panel
Marci McCarthy, CEO & President of T.E.N.
Jason Allen, CTO, Digital Hands
Rick Myers, CISO, Amscot Financial
Justin Zimmerman, Vice President & CIO, Giant Eagle

Generative AI is increasingly shaping our digital landscape, and with it comes the need to balance its opportunities with inherent risks. Our panel will explore how we can effectively utilize AI's power while prioritizing trust and data privacy.  We will confront crucial questions and explore best practices for protecting sensitive data in a landscape increasingly influenced by AI? This session promises to provide valuable insights into the nuanced complexities of AI, making it a must-attend for anyone interested in the future of technology. Your participation will be invited.

2:00 – 2:45 pm:  From the Front Lines of the FBI and Secret Service
Richard Dean, Assistant to the Special Agent in Charge, US Secret Service
Robert Price, Supervisory Special Agent, Computer Intrusion Program, FBI

The criminal supply chain ecosystem is evolving to look precisely like a corporation with hierarchy, HR and legal departments, full-time employees and subcontractors, and R&D departments. Learn the latest and return to your organization armed with knowledge to share with your C-suite about the astounding new levels of organization and sophistication.

2:45 pm – 3:00 pm: Break

3:00 – 4:00 pm: Securing AI and Harnessing its Power for Enhanced Security, Panel
David Homovich, Office of the CISO, Google Cloud

Indir Avdagic, SVP/CISO at Adtheorent
Christina Shannon, CIO at Kik Consumer Products

In today’s dynamic landscape, Artificial Intelligence (AI) presents a double-edged sword. While it possesses immense potential to revolutionize security, it also calls for robust safeguards. This session will dive deep into both sides of this critical equation, exploring strategies for securing AI and leveraging its capabilities to fortify our defenses. By providing insights into securing AI and harnessing its potential for enhanced security, this session will empower you to navigate the future of AI responsibly and effectively.

4:00 – 4:45 pm: Modernized Cybersecurity as a Business Enabler
Malvin Eanes, Director, Hotel Security & Compliance AMER and BISO, International Hotel Group (IHG)
Kerrell Hurt, Head of Global Deployment, Hotel Infrastructure and Integration, International Hotel Group (IHG)

How modernizing cybersecurity can increase the security outcomes of a business while at the same time enabling the business outcomes required to move the organization forward.  Defending a network against threats of mounting complexity requires a mixture of technology and policies that are as sophisticated as the campaigns created by attackers. Dated components and software offer an easy opportunity for threat attackers to breach networks.

1:00 – 2:00 pm: Cyber Trivia Quiz Bowl
Jack Clabby, Shareholder, Carlton Fields, Former Federal Prosecutor
Joe Swanson, Partner, Foley & Lardner, Former Federal Prosecutor

Back by popular demand, Jack and Joe lead the group through brain teasers on the cyber trivia and IR front. “IR Trivia is not Trivial”, their original “hadn’t thought of that” game, has morphed over the years to include the latest stumpers in response. Bring your skills and exit the session with prizes or, at the very least, answers to some of the most intriguing trick questions.

5:30 – 5:35 pm: Wrap Up and Excitement for Invasion on Saturday!

5:35 – 7:00 pm: Networking and Cocktails
